That's completely understandable. Finding someone you feel comfortable working with is an important part of therapy.
You can arrange a free 20-minute introductory conversation to ask questions, tell me a little about what you're looking for and get a sense of whether working together feels right.
There is no obligation to book a session afterwards. If I feel that another approach or practitioner might better suit your needs, I'll be open about that too.
No. You might come with something very specific, or simply with a sense that something in your life, your relationships or the way you feel about yourself isn't quite right.
You don't need to arrive with the right words or a clear explanation. We can begin with whatever feels most present and explore what emerges together.
That's completely fine.
Silence, uncertainty, changing the subject or struggling to find the right words can all be meaningful parts of therapy.
My role isn't to wait for you to perform therapy correctly. We can be curious about whatever is happening, including the difficulty of knowing what to say. Sometimes those moments can tell us something important, too.
All sessions take place online via Zoom. You will receive a private link to join your appointment.
You can join from home or another suitable location, provided you have a comfortable, private space where you can speak freely without being overheard or interrupted.
For hypnotherapy and past-life regression, it's particularly important to choose somewhere quiet and comfortable where you can relax without distractions.
The first session gives us time to talk about what has brought you to therapy, what you have been experiencing and what you might hope to gain from our work together.
There is no assessment you need to pass and no expectation that you tell me everything straight away. It's also an opportunity to get a sense of how I work, ask questions and decide whether you feel comfortable continuing.
I may offer suggestions, practical guidance or a different perspective, but I won't make your decisions for you.
Different people benefit from different ways of working. Some find exercises, ideas or things to explore between sessions helpful. Others benefit more from having the freedom to talk, reflect and follow whatever emerges without particular tasks or homework.
My approach brings these possibilities together. Sometimes I'll be more active, offering observations, questions or practical suggestions. At other times, the most useful thing may be to give something the time and space it needs to be understood.
I don't want therapy to become a programme you have to complete. We can find a way of working that suits you, what you're bringing to therapy and what seems most helpful as our work develops.
No. You are welcome to book a single session without committing to further appointments.
However, I think it's important to recognise that the deeper benefits of psychotherapy often develop through regular, ongoing work. A single conversation can be useful, but some patterns, feelings and ways of relating need time and space to become clearer.
Sometimes change begins to take place before we consciously recognise it. Returning to therapy regularly gives us an opportunity to explore what is emerging, build on earlier conversations and develop a deeper understanding over time.
For that reason, I encourage people to give the process time, while recognising that the decision to continue is always yours.
You can begin by exploring the services available on the website and choosing the approach that feels most appropriate for you.
If you feel ready, you can book a psychotherapy, hypnotherapy or past-life regression session directly through the website.
Alternatively, you can arrange a free 20-minute introductory conversation. This gives us an opportunity to talk about what you're looking for, answer any questions and consider whether working together feels right.
You don't need to have everything worked out before getting in touch, and there's no obligation to continue after our initial conversation.
No. If you feel the service may be right for you, you're welcome to book directly through the website.
The free 20-minute introductory conversation is entirely optional. It's an opportunity to ask questions, get a sense of how I work and explore whether we're a good fit.
There's no obligation to book a paid session afterwards.
I usually recommend meeting once a week, at the same time where possible.
A regular appointment helps give our work continuity and creates a dependable space for reflection. It also means we can build on earlier conversations without having to arrange a new time each week.
I understand that work, family and other commitments don't always allow for a fixed weekly appointment, so we can discuss a frequency and arrangement that works for you.
There's no fixed length of time for therapy, and you don't need to decide how long you'll continue before beginning.
Some people come with a particular difficulty and find a few sessions helpful. Others discover deeper patterns or questions about themselves that they want to explore over several months or longer.
We can regularly reflect on how the work is developing, whether it continues to feel worthwhile and when it might be appropriate to finish.
The decision to continue is always yours.
My approach is integrative, drawing particularly on psychodynamic, developmental, relational and person-centred perspectives.
I'm interested in understanding not only what you're experiencing now, but how your history, relationships and learned ways of coping may influence your present life.
Rather than rushing to change something, I believe it's often helpful to understand why it developed in the first place.
Our work is collaborative. Depending on your needs, we might explore recurring patterns, emotions and relationships, or draw on more practical approaches, including CBT-informed exercises.
The aim is to develop greater self-understanding, flexibility and freedom in how you respond to yourself, others and life.
Yes. Private Messaging and live psychotherapy sessions can work well alongside one another.
Private Messaging provides an ongoing space to share thoughts, experiences and reflections as they arise between appointments. Our live sessions then give us time to explore things together in greater depth, including anything that has emerged through our written conversations.
If you subscribe to Private Messaging (£150 per month), you can also book individual psychotherapy sessions at the reduced subscriber rate of £65 per session, rather than the usual £70.
The two services are booked and paid for separately, so you can choose the combination that suits you.
